Open Water Scuba Instructor Program- 5 days

This is the rest of the PADI IDC, the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program, is the final development step in your quest to become a PADI Instructor. During this program, you’ll be introduced to the entire PADI System and it focuses on further developing your abilities as a professional educator. This comprehensive training supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials earns PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers.

This rating sets you apart from the crowd. As a PADI Instructor, you may conduct the entire range of PADI programs – from Discover Scuba through Divemaster.

Successfully completing this program qualifies you to attend a PADI Instructor Examination (IE).

Crossing over from another training organizations

Current Instructor members in good standing from another training organizations are welcome to take a closer look at PADI System of Diver Education by just attending the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) part of the IDC.

However; at Go Pro Malaysia, we invite Cross-over Instructor candidates to join our entire IDC by just paying the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program fee!

After successfully completing the entire IDC or just the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program, Cross-over Instructor candidates are eligible to attend the PADI IE if they decide to become PADI Instructor!

OWSI Program prerequisites:

1. Be certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) or as a current instructor member in good standing with another recreational diver training organization including BSAC (Club Instructor or higher), CMAS (two or three star), FAUI, IDEA, Los Angeles County, MDEA, NAUI, PDIC, SSI, SAA (Instructor Grade 2 or higher) or YMCA (other may qualify, please contact Azman for more information).

2. Be at least 18 years old.

3. Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement for a diving medical examination conducted within 12 months. A licensed physician must sign the form and state that the candidate is fit for diving. The physician signing the form may not be the applicant.

4. Have been a certified diver for at least six months and have completed and logged at least 60 open water scuba dives and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving. To attend an PADI IE, you must have at least 100 logged dives.

5. Submit proof of CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months.

6. Submit documentation of any equivalent certification for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership-level issued by another recreational diver training organization. (PADI Member who has these records on file does not need to resubmit).
